All Toronto Maple Leafs\u2019 fans know too well that it took their team 19 seasons to beat away the demons and win a first-round series. During that time, one gets a bit down \u2013 depressed even. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been tough being a Maple Leafs\u2019 fan for so many seasons. The team has had a history of playoff failures and disappointments. It hasn\u2019t won a Stanley Cup since 1967, the longest championship drought in the NHL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That history of playoff failure history not only affects the team but affects the fans, as well. Many have been watching their televisions nervously after the team failed to close out their round-one series against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When You\u2019ve Waited So Long for Something Good to Happen, Now What?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you’ve waited so long for something good to happen and it finally, what now? Being a researcher in my former academic job, I know that many research studies are showing that music can have a calming effect on people with conditions such as anxiety, depression, and dementia.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music can also have an uplifting effect on people. It can help them engage in joy and happiness. In short, music is therapeutic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the impact of music on humans, I came to wonder what songs Maple Leafs\u2019 fans should have on their playlists this week after the rousing victory over the Lightning in Round 1. Here\u2019s my choice of the Top 4 Songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playlist Song #1: “Here Comes the Sun” (The Beatles)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This song is perfect for Maple Leafs\u2019 fans. It\u2019s about the anticipation of a better future and the joy of finally experiencing it. The lyrics fit the Maple Leafs\u2019 experience so well. “It’s been a long, cold, lonely winter” capture the feeling of waiting for something good to happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
