This morning there was great news for Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Despite concerns over his upper-body (head) injury, defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin readies to hit the ice tonight against the Boston Bruins. Head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update, stating, “If he continues to respond well, he’ll be good to go.”

Lyubushkin Passed His Protocols and Will Play
Lyubushkin’s readiness for tonight’s game was confirmed by Mark Masters of TSN. Masters reported that the 29-year-old Russian is expected to play against the Bruins. Despite exiting Saturday’s game against the Rangers after a heavy hit, Lyubushkin has recovered swiftly from his head injury.
Having contributed four assists and an impressive 116 blocks in 56 games this season, Lyubushkin’s return to the lineup will be a welcome sight for the Maple Leafs. He’s once again expected to skate alongside Morgan Rielly in the top four. If he does, his presence adds depth and stability to the defensive lineup against a formidable opponent like the Bruins.
Can the Maple Leafs Maintain their Momentum Against the Bruins?
With Lyubushkin cleared to play, the Maple Leafs will be looking to maintain their momentum against the Original Six Boston team. If they can secure a crucial win against the Bruins tonight, it will help them move up the standings in the Atlantic Division.
